Does a 20-year-old car make the grade for this series? In the case of the Merkur XR4Ti, I think it does- these things were adequately rare to arise with, and phase has not been kind to the few that Ford did supervise to sell. Sure, it was actually an Americanized Ford Sierra- common as abyss in Europe at the point- but there were Dearborn dreams of the thing seeming exotic sufficient to critical remark sales from the Germans and Japanese on these shores. This example, flecked in Alameda's East End, is in excellent shape- could it be big name has conscientiously restored a Merkur? Still, the XR4Ti had selected cool stuff you didn't copious see coming from Detroit at the season. A turbocharged SOHC tank locomotive, for example, and something we still don't see on the Mustang 20 years after: an independent rear pause. See, boys and girls, this is an import! Ford Werke AG had unknown to do with those monotonous ol' Tempos you see clogging your local highways, truthfully! And the dual spoilers! Isn't this rig the 80s-est thing you've ever seen? We all need to apply various Hair Product ASAP! Also incredibly 80s is the vinyl bra protecting that quality German exterior.
